Different Types Of Dhoklas and Its Recipe

Today My Recipe is Dhokla , which is basically a vegeterian food item that originates from the Indian state of Gujrat ,  Dhokla is also called as Dhokra in gujrat and in some places it is called as Khaman ,It can be eaten for Breakfast ,or as a snack ,Yesterday Evening I prepared it as a snack with Hot Masala tea It was just Awesome Snack ,So I Thought Why not to share this recipe in my Blog 😉

There are different kinds of dhokla prepared with different ingredients and ratios of chickpeas. Some of the popular kinds of dhoklas are:

  • Khatta dhokla
  • Rasia dhokla
  • Khandhavi dhokla
  • Cheese dhokla
  • Toor dal dhokla
  • Sandwich dhokla
  • Rawa dhokla
  • Mixed dal dhokla
  • Green peas dhokla

The Recepie Which I’m Going To share is Basic Gram flour and Semolina , You can Easily Prepared it instantly ,And Believe It’s very Yummy 😛 🙂 Here is the basic ingredients and Procedure of the recepie ,Lets start it 🙂

For Batter:

  • Gram Flour – 2 cups
  • Semolina (sooji or Rava) – half cup
  • Curd – 1 cup (well beaten)
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
  • Refined oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Water – 1 cup ( or you can increase or decrease it according to consistency of batter)
  • Eno Fruit Salt – 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder – half teaspoon
  • Sugar – 2 tablespoon
  • Salt according to taste
  • Lemon juice or vinegar – 1 tablespoon

  • Refined Oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seed- 1 teaspoon (not necessary its absolutely your choice)
  • Green Chillies – 3-4
  • Curry Leaves – 5-6
  • Sugar- 2 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice or Vinegar –  2 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaf for garnishing

Procedure:

1.Take a Mixing Bowl add Gram flour ,semolina ,curd and turmeric powder mix it properly then add some water into it to make proper consistency of Batter.

2. Add Ginger garlic paste and Refined Oil into the Batter and Mix it properly.

3. Now Time to add your Eno Fruit Salt into the Batter ,then add one spoon water over the Eno Fruit salt ,now Mix it Properly your batter quantity just increased up as seen in below image.

IMG_04184. Pour This Batter in Greased Microwave safe utensil.

5. Now Microwave it for 4-5 minutes , after this insert tooth pick if your tooth pick come out clearly it means your Dhokla is Ready 🙂

 6. It’ll also Leave the side of the tray as seen in above image.

7. Cut This into a Square Shape .

Now it’s time to Prepare Tadka ,Put your pan on the flame ,add refined oil ,When oil get heated up add mustard seeds, cumin seeds ,green chillies, curry leaves.

After few minutes add 1 small cup Water into this , and two spoon sugar and your lemon juice ,Now allow it to boil for few minutes.

Now Pour This tadka evenly on your dhokla ,Allow it settle down for 5-10 minutes so that it absorb all tadka properly.

Last but not the least garnish it with Coriander Leaf 🙂

Now It’s time to eat it with tomato catchup or green chutney ,It’s really a mouth watering Recipe 😛
